JONATHAN HELWIG
BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU: HEAD INSTRUCTOR

After fighting and winning several exciting professional MMA bouts on the regional scene, Jonathan Helwig brought his detail-oriented style of instruction to the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program in the role of Head Instructor. He currently teaches both group glasses and private lessons, ,as well as rolling live with all students during AMA open mats.
Professor Helwig is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Jamie Cruz and is the Head BJJ instructor at AMA Fight Club since 2007. After fighting and winning several exciting professional MMA bouts on the regional scene, he brought his detail-oriented style of instruction to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program in the role of head instructor. Jonathan Helwig is also one of the original four founding members of the fight team at AMA.

His goal is to improve the performance of all his students by providing an extremely detailed level of instruction. Students of Professor Helwig who have previously trained for years will often say that they both learned subtleties of techniques that they were never privy to before, and also that they were exposed to training intensity levels beyond what they knew existed.
